THz Tunable Precision Attenuator

Tydex offers tunable precision attenuators! They are used to attenuate thz radiation.

For thz radiation, we offer tunable and precise thz attenuators.

This thz attenuator is composed of two identical thz polarizers, which are fixed together on the same substrate. The thz polarizers are installed in the rotator and can achieve 360° full rotation. The first thz polarizer that the light beam passes through is called the input polarizer (referred to as the polarizer), and the second one is called the analyzer.

The core advantage of the tunable precision attenuator lies in its ability to achieve continuous and smooth adjustment, precisely controlling the attenuation level, with a maximum attenuation range of 30-40 dB. Its design involves tilting the polarization plane to make it non-parallel, which effectively suppresses reflection and interference effects.

Each thz tunable precision attenuator is equipped with a calibration curve, which is used to determine the relationship between the rotation angle of the polarizer relative to the input polarizer and the corresponding attenuation value.

According to the working wavelength range, we offer the following models:

а-(Microwave attenuator):Applicable to wavelength≥600 μm

b-(THz attenuator):Applicable to wavelength≥150 μm

c-(Infrared - THz Attenuator):Applicable to wavelength≥15 μm

The typical calibration curves are shown in Figures 1 and 2. Additionally, an attenuation calculation software is provided as a companion, facilitating precise control.
